« on: September 30, 2013, 03:42:22 pm »
HI Lads

When canvassing i normally bring a clipboard under the arm with my flyers attached but im just wondering with the amount of door to door sellers out there would i be better with little notebook hidden in the pocket or something??!!

Opinions please :)

What do yeah do?

I don't bother with a clip board, it looks too double glazing salesman or charity collector if you ask me. I just have the leaflet facing them when they open the door and if they're interested I put the info straight into my phone which I transfer to my spreadsheet when I get home.

I never canvas using a clipboard, I have a notebook in my hand and leaflets/cards in my pocket. The reason being the customer will look straight away at your leaflets and not your face when opening the door if they are on show, I do it myself when someone knocks my door holding a clipboard.
Where am I knocking today?

its about looking like a window cleaner and not a salesman which is key as everyone loves a cheeky window cleaner and hate salesman..
I wear tracksuit bottoms with smart trainers with window cleaning tshirt/ jumper and never have a problem even with my clipboard which i use.
First thing the potential customer will see on me is window cleaner on tshirt, they dont care if i have a clipboard or not.

Try it with no trousers on, people tend not to remember your face.

I always go to the door with an ipad, I have the website to hand at a click of a button and a 25 minute window cleaning tutorial which I make the customer watch, at the end of the video we have a light and lazer show with dancers, if that dont work I just use a notepad, same thing really  ;D
