Now I see!
« on: September 27, 2013, 08:09:44 pm »
When I started all my customers were on 8 weeks, soon dropped that to 7 as it was like starting again each call.
Recently I put them all on a 6 week rotation, wow what a difference a week makes.
I've been doing so much more work, its like I've only just been, they are still clean.
Now I see how its possible to earn some of the amounts quoted on here and to do the numbers stated in some posts. I'm doing it!
Took me long enough to work it out though!

No complaints, if they do I'll just say its because I'm on time this time not late as usual!  I get a fair turnover as a lot of my customers get posted elsewhere with the army. All new customers are going straight on 6 weeks but the existing ones have all gone over ok.

Thanks Cozy, much appreciated.
For March out cleans I usually do just the outside windows frames and doors. The trouble with doing insides as well is that they want the reveals steamed cleaned and it just becomes uneconomical time wise.
Full house cleans, carpets, ovens etc I wouldn't even look at, I just do windows.
Also there is such a variance of different house sizes that its hard to quote a figure, but usually between 20 - 60 pounds.

Wow, Whizz, Catterick is a long way from Portsmouth, which is on your profile, Do you do big mileage then? My max is about 80 miles for a day. ha ha. I used to live in Portsmouth but moved to Romsey.

March out cleans depend on the estate managers. Some want all the frame cleaning, in-out and folds etc. Some don't. As you've said, time wise, a waste of time and poor return. Full house cleans here start at 300 quid and carpets extra (about 40 quid per room).

Whizz, the reason they use strange words and phrases is because of using voice procedure on radios etc. It's a hard habit to lose  ;D
By the way, my wife was married to another soldier and spent 2 years up in Catterick. She lived in Roman Cres. Her windy charged her 3.50 !!! 3 bed house. That was mid 90's  ;D

I used to do windows for mates, for march outs, it isn't that high on the estate managers checks to be honest, I have never heard anyone getting knocked back for dirty windows ever, do you do Warminster Combat?

yup the german ones were always up themselves, about thirty years behind the UK, what they don't tell you is it is cheaper to get billed for cleaning than it is to pay for a guaranteed march out clean ;) there is a max they can get billed, I did it on my final move, they were not happy but nothing they could do about it ;D

I supposedly live in Portsmouth but Im never there, I travel nationally as I do canvassing for multiple cleaners all over the U.K, I knocked Roman Way, Wardrop, salerno etc etc I was up there a week it was good actually went in on £12 whole houses. I knocked the Aldershot base about 5 years ago for a part time cleaner he was a fireman as well. Ive also knocked a tri force estate in Portsmouth and the Camberley one, there is another place I did but cant remember where but know of Bond street/Road. They are good as you know they all have a wage coming in but you have to keep your ear to the ground and do your research. A good trick 1 guy does is he waits for the house to go empty and puts a slip thru saying we are your window cleaner and are due in 2 weeks, he then waits for it to be occupied and just turns up as nothing has happened. Cheeky genius I think.
