I clean most of the street and do 4 semis in a row.
Last time i cleaned them one of my custys said im moving and renting to someone else.he said knock and see if they want them cleaned.
So i knock and a woman in her 60s says yes please thank you paid upfront but said mind the gate i have painted it.
I said fine no problem.
We clean them and i see her keep looking at her windows.
My worker puts the cleaned slip through her neighbours as she wasnt in.
The old woman comes out going mad and saying her gate has water on and get a shammy and dry them.this is no good.
My mate explains.
She still goes mad.
Then she comes out arms folded staring and going nuts.
I said to me mate give her the money back.
Still not happy.lol

It seams fine for a customer to be rude and we must just stand and take it.An old man I worked for as a kid said. If a customer went mad at you be nice and she might be embarrassed and might just change her ways.Them try be nice again to give her the benefit of the dough. And this did not deliver a good result. Then rap it all up and give it all back to her and watch nd see how they change there attitude. There are just some people that when you explain and be nice just take the  p1ss even more. I have found this lesson in life has worked well for me in my 48years of business. Contrary to what some might think and have not got the guts to say.

I have to go back collecting Friday,if shes rude again I will give her some of her own medicine back.
I really hate biting my tongue,but I will tell her that her landlord was more than happy with clean windows and if you doubt it ring him up.
Also ask all your neighbours who are all great tippers.

They sure do m8,probably feels a bit of a fool when she sees how clean they come up but wouldn't clean her windows again for double the money.

I got dropped by a custy (bit loopy I think) in a bungalow which I had to drag the hose about 40 yards to get to today ...

Last time but one:-  she grumpily says I'm fed up with paying money every month I'll have you every other time. Fine that'll be £12 instead of £10 as the wndows will be dirtier. I'm not paying £12 I'll stay with monthly. OK.

Last time:- don't climb over my gate and I'm going every two months from now. OK, but I don't climb over your gate I put my ladder against the wall, reach over with a hook on a stick and slide the bolts and walk through. I don't want you doing the backs if I'm not in. OK fine it'll be £10 for front and sides then. That's a lot for front and sides. Minimum charge Mrs. D. do you want those terms or not? Oh alright then.

Two weeks later (today) she sees me in the street, I'm doing a bungalow a few roads from hers. I'm doing a an old georgian door with scrim and can see her approaching in the reflection of the sidepanel.

Mrs D "I don't want you anymore, I don't want you climbing over my gate, it's new."

Me: (back to her, looking at her in the reflection and busily working really cheery with a forced smile) "That's great! Best news I've had all day!"

Mrs D "What do you mean?"

Me: "What I said; I wanted to drop you from the round as soon as you started messing around but Dan persuaded me to keep taking your money. We had a joke bet; I said you'd dump me last time and Dan said he thought it would take two times (big smile)"

Mrs D "You weren't any good anyway there's been cobwebs and fly droppings every time you've been!"

Me "Of course there has! I do a rubbish job don't I?" (bigger smile)

Mrs D "There's no need to take that attitude!"

Me "Look Mrs D, I don't mean anything by it, I'm just really happy I haven't got you as a customer anymore; it really is the best thing that has happened to me all day unless you count the two (of course! this is CIU  ) new customers that asked me to start just now."

Mrs D marches off. Hooray.

If I remember I'll tell you about the "you broke my hanging basket and my daughter's solar lights" dumping I got on Tuesday - it's a good 'un.

lol nice one mate,it seems to mainly women aswell as I find the woman think they can say what the want without getting a gobfull back.
