I ran this method for years and occasionally ended up having to run the van whilst working. I now have a Leisure battery in the van so as not to use the van's batteries.

Main reason I switched a local guy had his van knicked whilst working!

Your sysytem is probably just reducing the amp's enough so there isn't enough power to start the van.

WHY NOT VISIT A LOCAL AUTO ELECTRICIAN? OR CARAVAN PLACE? I HAVE BOUGHT MY LAST 2 FROM A LOCAL CARAVAN PLACE 85AH.I BENCH CHARGE WITH INTELLIGENT CHARGER. IT DOES 2 WEEKS WORK ON 1 CHARGE WHEN NEW! AND STILL DOES A WEEKS WORK ON ONE CHARGE EASY.

THIS 2ND ONE I HAVE HAD ABOUT 18 MONTHS, STILL GOING STRONG.
WE CLEAN BY FAITH, NOT BY SIGHT WITH WATER FED POLE WHEN WORKING AT HEIGHT.

Hi CWC,

How many hrs a day do you work? I bought a 110amp battery about 12 months ago and need to charge daily  :-\

What make of battery did you buy?

Regards

Rob

Hi Rob It will honestly do 40+ hours work before needing a charge. I think its a platinum leisure battery

My next battery will be 2x 6volt lithium phosphate batteries wired to give 12 volts as these can take a charge better and will run at full power until 95% flat. Were a lead acid only delivers 12 volt for a third of the charge, when they reach 9.25v they will not work with your pump and will go even less  time with a controller as most cut out earlier.

I bought one a year and a half ago from Advanced Battery Supplies  (Google them)  for £55 and it only died because I didn't put any water in it.

Just bought another one which I expect should last years without a hassle.
