L5 advise from the Gurus please...
« on: September 16, 2013, 10:23:42 pm »
This year Im going to get my backside in gear and get the L5 fitted before it gets too late but I have a couple of questions for the experts amongst us.

1 - Is it easy to fit? I have an Ionics Pro5 650litre system
2 - Do I need to fit a flume on my van seeing as I'm using propane gas (I would rather not leave van doors     open when Im working around the back garden
3- I use a 100m microbore hose, Do I need to buy a 'hotwater hose that they sell in Gardiners?
4- Is it possible to run the L5 of a battery? I have a massive Daf battery in the van that powers my system and was wondering if I could hook it up to that.

Thanks in advance

Lol-there's no guru's on here bud. Spruce is the most helpful though.

1-yes
2-if you want to close the doors you'll have to exhaust somehow. I tried it today, closing the door while the boiler was firing. Got about    20 minutes of hot. I assume before the oxygen ran out. Opened the door again, toasty straight away.
3-no idea what that hose is but you will probably need a hose that is heat rated.
4-I'm still experimenting. started week 3 on original 2 'd' batteries. Sparky mate of mine said a 12v can be stepped down to 3v but he reckons it'll be easier to just change the batteries, he reckons theyll go for 6 months isn...

RO Sheen don't know why you need another battery to run the portable shower. You already have a battery that runs your pump the propane gas bottle will run the shower. I got the fog wash portable shower so easy to fit basically the hose coming off your pump at the mo you have to add another bit with a connector to run into the shower and another hose from the out of the shower runs into the side of your hose reel.  It takes a good 5 or 10 minutes before the water starts hitting up. You will see the pipe for the gas bottle goes in between the two hose pipes on bottom of shower you will see where it goes. If you not sure type in you tube portable showers that will show you pretty easy. I've for 13 kg propane bottle which last me about   Nearly 2 months of use which is good. I got the thermo orange hose from Gardiners which you can use normal hose but doesn't hold the heat in as much as the thermo.
Hope this helps !!!
