I know that by law the dirty extracted water has to be put down a toilet/foul drain,but what about the excess water left in the clean tank after a job that we vacuum out of the clean tank into the waste tank.

Does this have to be disposed of in the same way?

Why would you want to put it somewhere else?

You might think/know it's 'clean water' but the inspector who may be watching you doesn't - and you've no way of proving it if they 'spot you doing it'.

and some people have to tip the machine up to get it into the van, and prefer not to have water running out all over them whilst doing so..

I pump it out and use it to clean the wate tank . Then i put in the black poder paint ready for the next job

What a strange question, from what im assuming is an experienced cleaner.

The reason I ask the question is because with my new machine my tidy up/put away process normally involves me doing the last process of vaccing about a third of a bucket of water that always seems to be left in the clean tank into the waste tank.

I just wanted to know if this clean water is still classed as dirty and needs to be disposed of as such.

And some people carry the machine round in their van on its back.
I find it easier to secure and keep it from moving as it lowers the centre of gravity.
Don't tell anybody but most of the time all my waste water goes down the drain.
It's no dirtier than the rainwater that goes down after running through oil, dog sh*t etc that is probably on the road.

I've had a few machines and vans in my time and never had a problem storing the machine upright on its wheels.

You could safely store up to two buckets (20 litres) in the tank without it tipping out whiling putting I in the back.

If it has chemical in it then its classed as foul water and should be disposed of as same as the dirty water. If its plain water then you can dump it anywhere even on the garden.
