Hi guys, been pressure washing for a few weeks now and all the kit is working really well and getting superb results, however we having a slight problem with the quick release fitting on the lance trigger

Basically after 2 or 3 jobs the o rings in the female connector are out of shape or split, I have tried different hoses ( I have 3 separate 10 meter lengths ) and it happens on all of them leading to a nasty leak

I presume that there must be a slight fault with the male connector on the lance?
Is this a common problem? Or should I be looking at a different style of trigger/fitting?

Nilfisk do a trigger with a swivel built in, would this be better

Darren,
after use just hose/clean the female connector, to remove any grit that you might have picked up, and just spray with a lubricant spray every now and again.
"O" rings are really just consumables so carry some spares as they always break at the wrong time.

Check both male and female fittings are compatible...some "seem" like they fit but unless they are a snug fit they move and destroy "o" rings. Always replace as a pair.

Thanks for the reply's they are all brand new connectors, I think it may be a poor fit as even after 2 disconnects the o ring has been half pulled and is out of shape.

I have replaced them, no issue here I have a big box of them but concerns are how quick its leaking and is there a chance of disconnect?

had similar probs and after taking advice on here I started using a little marine grease on the o rings, they still wear but last a lot longer.

Spoke to supplier who sent out new male fitting and we haven't had a drip from the connection since. - very happy with q washers

Soon as we use our hotbox he seals are melting by the minute. Right pain the bum. Need a lance direct to gun and to hosereel. Have flooded our vans because of seals.

The problem with putting on any grease or lubricant onto the O rings is that any grit/dirt will stick more easily to them causing them to wear quicker.

I've found that keeping them rinsed off before connecting has prolonged their life and of course carry several spares...

Just bought 10 sets of o rings as we eat them. 3 in a set @ £2.70 . found the black ones arent anyway as hardy as the green o rings.

the black ones are nitrile and the green ones viton which are better as they are heat resistant
