health and safety meeting
« on: September 05, 2013, 04:50:53 pm »
I have a meeting with a potential commercial customer tomorrow who looks after the cleaning of various offices.

They have asked to come in for a meeting to chat about health & safety amongst other things, as the job will be my biggest commercial is there anything I should know before I go in there and look a fool.

The obvious things I know are,

corner off area where MEWP is used
Trailing hose signs
hi vis jackets

is there anything else? just incase they ask me and i go  ??? ??? ??? i dont know!

also as im only 18 some commercials ive approached arent interested and think i dont take it seriously, so i need to look like i know the ins and outs

many thanks

You don't 'need to look like you know the ins & outs'
Be honest.
If you don't know the answer to something, write it down and say you'll come back to them.
If you try and blind them with BS (if they know anything about anything) they'll see through you.
Honesty is the best way.
They'll know you're not multi-million pound. Perhaps that's why they've given you a crack. Perhaps they've had massive companies who can box tick for England but can't cut the mustard when it comes to cleaning windows, promptness, price, efficiency & reliability.
You can perhaps.

I'd take some paper work & put into a folder to hand over to them ie Insurance , method statement, risk assessment if you have a safe contractor certificate they love all that stuff !!!
Hope this helps !!!
