Been doing this house for at least 4 maybe 5 years. For £8, put it up last year to £9...its easy £10 house, maybe even £12. Anyway, cleaned other day and he said

"£9, and your finished?"

"thats good money isnt it?"
erm well...
"im a qualified joiner and i dont earn the money you do, you could easily earn over £40 an hour"

 

And? Go do some windows if its that big a deal. Sacked? Erm no mate DUMPED

Had that with an Asian customer a while back, he said I was on surgeons wages. I replied "last time I checked, a surgeon didny require an accountant and am sure all his equipment is supplied free of charge etc,etc,etc,etc.

You said dumped so i assumed you dumped him, sounds wierd him sacking you after providing him with your service for 5 years to moan you earn more than him...customers hey!!!who would have em...

Very unusual post for CIU. Usually, when this kind of thing happens to most on here, they walk round the corner & immediately pick 4 £20 jobs that only take 5 minutes each!!!!

I know exactly what you are on about, I have had it a few times myself over the years.

 A woman argued years ago that she didn't owe me £1.80 x 3 = £5.40, I stood my ground for 20 minutes trying not to argue, then when she eventually got her money out to pay, I said keep it love because you clearly need it more than me because I earn £ per hour

I only said it, to really p--- her off, I walked away without her money and she was going bananas, ha ha ha

I did it for the principle, as they look down their noses at window cleaners usually, and I thought I would put her in her place
