Indeed, even though the marketing spin behind it is pants, ppb water will be more aggressive in returning to an impure state. Just how much needs to be evaluated. Charlie probably does some of the trickiest cleans there are, would be interesting to see if he can elaborate a bit more.

I can't see Mr price wasting his time coming on here to post his opinion on the PPB system as many people on here will just put the system down no matter what  ;)

It's not about getting spots, it's about speed. You can do a perfectly acceptable job with cold water, yet finally people start to realize the benefits of hot. Could be the same with ppb.

It's not about how much more capability it has in dissolving solids, it's how fast it can do it, how aggressive it is. I'm not going to knock it until I've tried it.

What is the difference with the PPB system? I am guessing it is a few extra filters for which you pay a very hefty premium.

1) No and no.

2) Raises hand ... when I started I was paranoid about seeing 000 on my tds meter; I now believe that 001 part per million is fine but am happy to work all day long at 010 parts per million which is 1 part per 100,000.

3) No.

4) No.

5. Never.

6. To me PPB is like Homoeopathy - the science doesn't stack up but if it helps people cope with their ailments then fine.

In practical terms for window cleaning 1ppm and 1ppb produce the same result. Why? It's down to the context of what you are using it for.

Because "round our way" the tap water is about 350 ppm and it will dry leaving spots. If I wash my van mirrors with it and get rid of the dirt that was on them then rinse them I see spots if it is left to dry.

If I make up a solution in a back pack with "pure" to a tds of 100 ppm then rinse off with it then the spots are reduced. If I use 50 ppm tds the spots almost disappear. At 10 ppm tds I see nothing. At 1 ppm tds I know I don't need this but I feel I have covered all practical bases which is why I use resin after my RO gets to 10-15 ppm tds.

My head tells me I need 010 my heart wants 000. To got to 1ppb is reducing it to the ridiculous.

It reminds me of sound system buffs - they go on about speakers that reproduce sounds that the human ear cannot pick up and convince themselves that their systems costing thousands are better than a system I would be content with at hundreds.

If they want their dog to hear it then great but I still hear "Jerusalem" and enjoy "Bohemian Rhapsody" in all their glory and most of my customers do too!
