transit connect

Doing the costings for getting a transit connect swb. Around a 10 plate.
Can someone tell me what the road tax is, think its around 230?
Also would this van take a 400 litre tank and whats the insurance likely to be?
Ive got about 5 yrs ncb on the car. Thanks guys.

I have a transit connect swb don't think the pay load is big enough for 400l litre. Check before you buy i might be wrong.

I have never heard of an issue 'transferring' your no claim bonus for a car to a van or the other way round. But you need to check as typical car insurers don't always insure vans. If there is a problem, then go with a company that does both.

Transit connect
T200 = 625kg payload
T220 = 825 kg payload
T230 = 900 kg payload.

These figures apply to SWB and LWB vans. LWB are high roof.

So a 625kg van will just carry a 400 litre tank with basic equipment only. I would personally go for a T220 that has a higher payload, and fit a 500 litre tank.

Son in law has a 53 plate T220L which is a high roof lwb van and we fitted a 500 litre tank. On a good day he will use all that water. Even with the LWB he can just fit his SLX22 pole down the side at an angle. He has a steel mesh bulkhead fitted, so the swb will be shorter.

With my son's Peugeot Partner van, we had to cut the bulkhead so he could slide is pole bewteen the passenger seat and the door, so you would probably have to make a similar plan.

Hi combat1. Am trad at the moment. Was looking at the change but can't afford Ireland at the moment. My connect is a great van. Not one day of trouble but like i said earlier just check the pay load.

Hi Combat, i've got a T200 with a 350 tank in, pure freedom trolley, two poles 22 and 35 and everything else I need, including step ladders. All fits inside no probs. And it's neat. I was thinking of putting in a 500 tank and see how far I could fill it up before it takes me over the limit.  ;)
