Cleaning Inside of Conservatory Roof
« on: August 28, 2013, 06:20:18 pm »
Hi Fellas

Was just wondering what is best to use on cleaning the inside of a glass conservatory roof. Havn't done one before and have recently been asked to.

Had been planning on getting my ladder inside and then getting to as much of it as possible with an applicator on a pole. However I'm sure there must be a better way that people do this as this would end up leaving water dropping down when I squeegee it off.

Any links or ideas of what you use would be very much appreciated.

Thanks
Tom

Step ladder and trad mate, try to do it first thing in the day aswell.
If you leave it untill the afternoon it'll be like cleaning in a sauna
Why don't you have a quick google before making stupid comments?

I have never attempted one, but been asked many times before.
I can not imagine anything worse than working inside a conny on a warm morning/dinner time worrying if im dropping dirty water on their carpet, or if I will stand on their dog lol
just leave it and stick to doing outsides! unless you have priced it extremely well

Karcher window vac works great but you will still be left with a few streaks and marks which
I quickly polish off with a vikan easy shine.

Trad them with a step ladder or a frame

Easy money

Price well
Tell them to empty conservatory
Put a decorators dust sheet down if it's not tiled floor _
Soap up one panel with applicator on pole . Go over it a couple of times to get rid of dirt
Put scrim over applicator and wipe panel down
Repeat this for all panels. They will be clean but won't look great
Then soap them up again with a slightly damp applicator and blade them off
This way you don't get much water on the floor
Thanks,

Don't do it!

You will get a quarter of the way through and want to go home!

Use a telescopic mop handle  and aluminum flat mop frame with velcro strips, stick a damp little waffle cloth onto the velcro strips and proceed to wash glass panes, then take off the damp cloth and stick on a dry little waffle cloth to polish off for a perfect streak free finish, if you have to deep clean metal frames just rub them with a damp magic eraser pad to remove ingrained soils and again just wipe over with a dry little waffle cloth to achieve a streak free finish on the framework, this method is quick and easy while leaving no drips or splashes.

What's the matter with all you girlies??? We are THE professionals and you all seem to shy away from a job that can earn really well. Use citrusol in your water and use step ladders if you are not skilled with a pole. I use a pole.  ;) ;D

Only ever do the insides of a conservatory roof on a cloudy day and if it's warm out, open all windows and doors to cool the consevatory down otherwise the water dries almost instantly.

Better still, ask to do it on a day when it's raining buckets and you can't work normally.

Just chant..... Hare Krsna, Hare Krsna, Krsna Krsna, Hare Hare, Hare Rama, Hare Rama, Rama Rama, Hare Hare. It's beats chanting Tory Tory or Labour Labour.

If you decide to do the job using a pole on a wet/overcast day I would suggest that you look at the advantages of a zero degree squeegee. I have an Ettore Contour Pro plus and I find it brilliant for poling overhead glass, skylights etc.
