The best thing is getting the splinters out of your fingers, when the infection starts to open up the wound . . . . oh and when they break ( you can hear the crack when you are on top of em ) and the quick decent towards the ground !

Try working in strong wind - turn your back on an ally ladder and you're liable to find it in next door's garden or laid across their car!!!!!!
Wooden ladder stays where you put it even in strong wind!

I once had a rung break on a wooden ladder, it had a wire underneath the rung for safety but still was very scary when it happened. Swore i'd never use them again.
