Does anyone else's new clamp levers spin and loosen when you open them? Is there a quick fix?

No quick fix to them spinning in my experience. You do get used to it but it can be a pain and contributes to the nut working loose and so needs to be occasionally adjusted.

Sorry Alex but I am a little disappointed by the new clamps.

To get the best from these clamps you will need to adjust them up properly to start with. This is done by adjusting the bolt adjusters until they just hold the section. Then tighten up by another full turn (360 degrees) and then another half turn (180 degrees).

Try this and see how they perform. Any other problems drop me an email on alex@agardiner.co.uk

we're continuously adjusting ours too, screwing up the bolt.  on a day to day basis theyre not much different from the old OMHO.  however, they have given us extra life out of old carbon sections that would have been replaced previously, so thats a big bonus

I don't like the clamps at all. I've tried tightening them as much as possible but they ineviatably become loose again and start spinning which winds me up.
I think you need to re-design them in such a way that they can't spin at all.

If you have a problem with this can you drop me an email along with your name and order number, as this should be able to be sorted out fairly easily.

I've got the new clamps on my 3 poles and they work great.

A massive improvement on the old ones. Only need adjusting once in a while.

I don't know what some of you lot do with them.

I have found that if they are adjusted like it says on the instructions they work fine, they do twist off of their axis from time to time which is mildly irritating but I think the design of them should extend the length of time that the clamps work effectively.

But why are you constantly adjusting it ??
You must be adjusting due to the lever spinning not the pole spinning.. The anti pole slip with these clamps is almost Eliminated fully but Unfortunately a side effect to this is loose spinning levers.

Same problem here.
I think the problem is the Loctite or whatever is on the thread.
When you first fit them and turn the bolt it is really, really stiff because the Loctite is holding but once you have adjusted them up to suit your particular pole section - (they are all different) the "fix" of the Loctite is broken.
I can manage with adjusting them - just about :) :)
but I reckon some fresh Loctite and then adjust them to suit and they should be fine.
Maybe instead of pre-treating the threads with Loctite which then has to be "unfixed"- a little sachet included with the clamp set may be a better option.
This could then be applied and the clamp set to suit and the Loctite should hold.

The loctite is fine. Its only supposed to give more resistance to thread turning.

You mean the blue "Nylock". Adjusting the clamps over time causes it to wear off in my experience. Could try a little ptf tape on thread.

I find because the clamps are spring loaded you need to tighten the more than the old clamps.
