SLX & CLX Differences
« on: August 27, 2013, 04:25:22 pm »
Hello,

Quite a big price difference but the weight between the 22 models is only 90g lighter on the SLX.

Is the bend a lot worse on the CLX?

Thanks

Paul Coleman

The bend on the CLX is potentially greater but, in use, I've found that it is only really noticeable at full length or at awkward angles.  However, as I've used both SLX and CLX, I feel that the price difference also reflects on how long the poles last.  CLX is a bit softer so less longevity - a situation that the new style clamps will help I reckon.

at 22 foot i think it is better to have the slx, because you do notice the extra bend, however i have slx and clx 18 and although the slx is slightly better its hardly noticeable at 18 foot i will continue to buy clx's with the new clamps etc they really are a very good pole short enough not to bend much

I have clx22 (nice pole) and slx25. Since buying the slx I don't really bother with the clx.

The CLX is a great budget pole and great value but no a patch on SLX poles for lightness, rigidity, longevity

My oldest SLX is nearly four years old and used every day it's done cony roof work SFG's cladding jobs, been dropped banged trodden on and still going..

CLX 27  lasted about a year before being totally $h@gged - plus was a lot more difficult to use at full length
