Ask your supplier for ones that are based on micelles technology, as these type are the safest available.

You're better off with an assortment of different products, SPM, Fabric Restorer, Shockwave, even Power burst, that way you have something for most soil conditions.

Like I said, have an assortment so you can deal with anything, including filthy pub and club upholstery where only the likes of pb and SW will do the job. Likewise restaurant chairs etc.

You've been listening to too much hype and misinformation about PB.
It's not a nuke, it's a strong detergent used on very dirty carpets AND if needs be upholstery. If you acid rinse it and used as directed there's no more problem with it than any other chemical.

 Like Simon I have used powerburst on upholstery with great results as a last resort. It's all about using what you have in your armoury to do the best job efficiently. I would not recommend it for anyone inexperienced or just starting out as you could end up with all sorts of problems from lack of knowledge. Heavy duty carpet traffic lane cleaners have a high ph and have wetting agents designed for penetrating carpets. Upholstery cleaners have less wetting agents for obvious reasons. If by chance you do have a problem after cleaning a piece of upholstery I doubt your insurance company would look favourably on you using products not designed for the job.
