« on: August 19, 2013, 07:04:06 pm »
Looking to diversify.
Was thinking of domestic cleaning to run with the window cleaning, employ one or two people to carry out the domestic side.

Does anyone do this

Any advice

I'm looking at the same thing next year my wife will be running it doing office and residential cleaning.

The hourly rate is quite low for office & residential cleaning though i think its around £12-15 mark but i haven't looked into it to deeply at the moment so i might be wrong.

I started Window cleaning in Jan this year and quickly fell into residential and contract cleaning (by mistake), the cleaning side is my biggest income with regular residential customers and a few large commercial contracts, i employ 4 staff to do all the cleaning and do my windows myself.

my advice is do it.

I do both window  and office cleaning, I did think at one time getting into domestic cleaning, glad I didn't to much aggro.

I only have 4 office cleaning contracts left as they don't pay that well, I had one company went bust owing me £700, another company wanted to pay me £6 per hour.

I don't go looking for anymore office cleaning work now.

Don't do it Bob!  Domestic cleaning is a pain of a business to run.  Buy me a coffee or beer, and I'll explain point by point why....
