Professional organisations - what to do?
« on: March 03, 2006, 08:47:24 pm »
What I would like to see is a professional organisation or organisations that do a good job of representing the industry and the professional window cleaners out there.

I want an industry that will do right by its members - and the customers that its members serve.

I want a professional organisation that isn't just about making money out of its members through membership fees or product sales.

I want help, advice, useful information..... integrity.

I don't want a fractionated industry that has the 'Feds' on one side and the 'Assocs' on the other.

I dont want to be confused about which one to join and I don't want my customers to be confused about which organisation to trust.

Hello

Wherever possible we would like to work with the fed on important issues.

The fed are good at what they do,but we saw a gap in the market and would like to do things a bit differently.

A bit of competition is a good thing as it keeps both sides on there toes.

We are a non profit organisation who will pass all surplus money in the accounts on to our members in increased benefits or services.

If you have an increasing bank balance that means you are not doing your job properly,

We will not be selling products so we will have more time to concentrate on representing window cleaners.

Currently the committee have had to pay out considerable sums out of our own pockets and have attended numerous meetings without re-imbursement for travelling expenses etc.

Myself personally have spent over £300 on petrol alone and lost at least 10 days pay as have all committee members.

We are  already adressing issues as they arise and will keep one eye on what lies ahead.

I hope this helps to answer some of your questions

Dave

.  .  .  If you have an increasing bank balance that means you are not doing your job properly,  .  .  . ? in business terms could you explain that statement because I thought that is what business is about!

We are not on about business, we are merely stating if a trade association is banking huge profits every year and not spending it on members interests then the job is not being done properly.

Remember a trade association is a not for profit organisation.
