shurflow backpack (questions)
« on: March 03, 2006, 07:50:20 pm »
At the moment I use a van mount however I have just taken some more work on from another cleaner a lot of which are terrace houses which are a bit of a problem as I don’t want to take the hose through the house.
So I suppose a back pack would be the answer.

So my questions are as follows:

The shurflo back pack on ebay from America

1, what is the total cost inc shipping and tax? (in sterling)
2, do I need to do any conversions to it?
3, how long dos it take to arrive?

finally, dos anyone HAVE ONE FOR SALE
Thanx

A friend of mine recently purchased one from E-Bay USA.  It cost him £160.

Yes, in that you have to adapt the crop sprayer to accommodate a female hoselock adapter.  But that's really easy.  Just cut it off and stick on a female hoselock!

Apparantly the difference in our electricity supply doesn't matter, so the battery charger works no problems.

My mate said two weeks.  But if you buy it from Williamson Pumps, about four days.

after me putting the clip on the battery pulling the hose reel out of the van then pulling hose all round the house getting the hose stuck 50times its a pain. with the back pack out of the van plug pole in and away you go saying that iam going to get some thiner hose and a better reel soon it may be better again

Chap I know has two hose reels in his van - one for normal use and the other kept muck and poo free for running thru houses.
It's a game of three halves!

used the shur flo bak pak for about 6 months now and find them to be extremely tempremental.. they switch themselves off about 30 times a day. some times you cant get them to even switch back on with out spending 10 minutes fiddling about with the battery / pump wires e.t.c   and whatever you do dont let them run out of water.. no pressure switch! if u get air in them sometimes it takes forever to get them going again.. I know that it isnt just a dodgy one off that I use because there not mine and the guy that I work with has four of them and they all are the same...

Great when they are working though and fine for the first 3 months.
