Franks time, get this:

2.5 mile swim 1:24:54

110 mile cycle 5:34:45

Followed by a marathon in under 4 hours. 3:57:45.

Total time, 11:11:11.

I say stand up Sir Richard Franklin. An absolutely miraculous achievement.

Well done Richy!!

Brilliant achievement especially for his first ever Ironman. Well inside the 16 hour limit.
I've done several 100 mile bike rides but was knackered by the end. To go and run a marathon afterwards is amazing. Wonder if he'll take Monday off?

Thanks guys for the texts and message of support from you all.

Thanks for all the donations recd so far and long may it continue.

How does one feel today.lets say getting up and down the stairs are going to be fun.
But that is nothing to what disabled kids have to go though in there life's,and this is what kept me going though the day.

To finish a lronman was a dream that I believed that I could never do.but after 5months and over 300hrs of training to reach that line was unreal.and to finish with a time under 12hrs was beyond my dreams.

Make are way back to the uk on Monday back to work on Tuesday for four day then a week off

Living the dream

Ps age 44 and bloody feel good for it

Cheers guys talk soon

Ps age 44

You're older than 44, mate, and I know you in real life too.

If you're 44, you really need to make an appointment with your doctor, ASAP.  Just walk in there and say, "Doctor, I'm 44!", and the doctor will take it from there.
