Gb winter canvassing is the best apart from being cold!. In summer when it stays light you have no idea at all if anyone is home so you end up knocking on every house wasting loads of time on the hundreds who arnt in! In winter when dark early you can simply see who is in by there lights being on. I gained so much more in winter months than in summer.
When i used to build milk rounds it was always best in winter to get my best results.

its a shame your so far from me gb as you seem a work hungry bloke that isnt totally convinced that canvassing is the way, i would love to take you out a few days and show you the easy ropes and shortcuts to help you build up an empire of custom.

Email removed (please contact us for advertising opportunities)
If you mail me or want to give me your number i can give you many pointers that will clear your head of all your canvassing woes.

Why would you remove my email address from a post i made to help a fellow window cleaner out with his canvassing??
If i was touting for business then id have understood but i clearly wasnt!.
Cheers.

Fair post Mick.
Why isn't your email in your stats but though?
You could just say email me-its in my stats...
Surely you're not the first person to put your email in a post.

Mods/owners-if you're cracking down on this your time could be better spent on the UI being more ipad/iphone friendly. Ie-adding pictures from them rather than having to fire up a Mac/PC

Seems completely OTT to me as well and it's hardly advertising when it's just aimed at helping, and please note the word 'helping', just one other person.

Obviously a bureaucrat was involved in that decision or if the reason to remove the email address was for another reason,  then maybe a few words of explanation might help.

Just chant..... Hare Krsna, Hare Krsna, Krsna Krsna, Hare Hare, Hare Rama, Hare Rama, Rama Rama, Hare Hare. It's beats chanting Tory Tory or Labour Labour.

I am with you guys on this one. I find if unfair when some use this forum to blatantly  promote there business and nothing is done about it, and I m not speaking about the businesses giving advice to forum members.eg printing on clothing, remote controllers ect.

@ OP - just buy a banner like the other advertisers do.  It's only about £800 for the year.

Have you been drinking the bong water?  Alex doesn't advertise here; his customers do it for him.

If Alex advertised, I'm sure the site owner would be all over him like a tramp on chips.  I wouldn't; I like his service!

And I'm pretty sure the original deletion was just an error by Admin.  When you mod, sometimes you're tired (we all have our normal jobs you know), so we skim through a post we're probably not that interested in, and make changes.

Sometimes we get it wrong.

I bet admin hasn't even seen this post either; we're not omniscient either.

Okay, Alex isn't allowed to overtly advertise, he's allowed to be helpful.

Concepts are funny things, what you perceive to be advertising, I perceive to it to being helpful and
I guess it's my opinion that counts here.

please open your eyes

I can't you idiot; I'm Japanese and they're always like this!  >:( >:(

I think the main reason that Alex puts his email address up for you to contact him is to try to reduce his profile and help with any problems regarding his products without 'firing' up the forum. I bet 99% of the problems users complain about are self generated. Having worked in after sales service for many years, my experience was that there weren't many genuine complaints - the majority were people who seemed to get a kick out of demonstrating their own stupidity - glory seekers.

I can never understand why people don't contact him directly when they have a problem. Why do they have to make a big deal of it in a post.

On another forum a poster had taken delivery of a new clx and was complaining how rubbish the new clamps were. It sounded to me like he was trying to get some brownie points at Alex's expense. Hence the reason why Alex suggested he contact him directly.

Another poster was complaining about the way his new hose was coiling up - not happy so posted his grievance over the forum after he had cut the hose in two. What was the point of posting?

And now the current post that is on every forum about his staff not answering the phone and customers must order on the internet. He answers it on one forum, someone see the complaint, ignores the answer and puts the same thing on another forum. Then someone else can't believe that that there is no one on a Sunday to take orders over the phone.

When I worked in the motor trade, the night security would often get a call from someone wanting to buy a car at 2 o'clock in the morning. Every enquirer that made a telephone call at that time of night turned out to be an idiot.
