Pre-Vac,   Pre-spray, Hand pad then terry towel or small spotting machine and the same for upholstery

an Oreck Orbiter would be better on stairs no? less fatigue too.

We still use a portable for stairs. Oreck would be a good idea. Problem for us on commercials is H&S doesn't allow it.

What's the highest rpm you can use on carpets hector?

I wouldn't go faster than 175 rpm as a beginner to using a rotary.

More experienced will be able to use faster without damaging the carpets, but think dry fusion machines are the fastest I would use.

We bonneted an empty 5 bed vicarage on Tuesday including 2 flights of stars, took 3 of us 2hrs,

 I had one man vacuum the full house then spend the rest of the time just on the stairs. He presprayed then scrubbed with a stiff handbrush, then put some more prespray down, then toweled them off vigorously. The looked brilliant but on Wednesday the guy couldn't lift his arms above his head his shoulders ached so much

Their was a mixture of carpets from wool to nylon, none of then very dirty but all looked really good when we finished

Never had a problem in the years I've used only DF and yes I've done some mingers
