If you have a Super-Max45 then this is an 8 section pole. To extend this by 2 sections you would need a Super-Max #9 extension and a modular #10 extension - http://www.gardinerpolesystems.co.uk/acatalog/The-New-SLX---Extension-Sections-SMAX_EXT.html

These will slide on to make the pole a 55ft pole. You will also need to purchase a #9 end cap for the base of the #10 extension (it is stepped so takes the #9 cap).
