collecting
« on: August 13, 2013, 11:32:41 pm »
Am starting to get the hump with the collecting side now, fed up with the usual bad payers and calling back 3 times to get my money . Im going to  start my culing process soon and get rid of all the messers, im also thinking of texting every customer a couple of days before and making sure they have the money ready for collection or leave the money out somewhere.
Does anyone on here text the customers and get all their money on the day ?.

SAE and BACS transfer for larger domestic and commercial jobs.

collecting for the very compact estate work.if a customer owes 2 or 3 cleans they get left SAE or bank details.

i collect once week on a monday for an hour or so.thats it these days.

works well.any customers that still owe after 14 days on the larger jobs get a text reminder.

so do you not offer these payment methods? ::)roll

texting before to have money ready..mmmm doesn't sound good to me

Get rid of the messers, tell everyone no more collecting, payment options are SAE, BACS OR STANDING ORDERS.

I don't do any collecting.
Text night before job. If there is nobody in they leave money out.
But only have a small round. Not sure if i would do that with bigger numbers.

Why on earth would you collect, don't you do enough work during the day never mind wasting your evenings collecting.
Just get everyone to pay by cheque or bacs or if they cant do that they can leave money out for you.

Hi all cheers for the feedback.
I do offer online banking and it works with quite a few customers, However a lot of customers don't rush to pay and I need cashflow to keep going .
Standing orders don't work as I cant guarantee the exact day .
My bank cane me in fees for all the cheques I bank, and they are aiming to faze out cheques very shortly .
I know I keep banging on about collecting and have done for a while ;D, but it seems the only way that works.
Oh yeah ! ive also downloaded the ping it app, but not yet gave it a try .

Have you thought about direct debit, go cardless is only 1% apparently.
You take payment only once you've done the work unlike standing order.

Don't worry about getting them to pay after you've cleaned.
Get so's all in on the 1st of the month. That way they've paid before you clean.
If you tell your customers that everyone is doing it they'll be more likely to come on board...
