One of my customers flogs some device that takes card payments.  He must be doing well because he lives in a huge place, indoor swimming pool, stables, underfloor granite-floored heating; granite work tops in his huge kitchen, etc.

Anyway, he tells me the mobile devices aren't very good because they'll only work if you can get a mobile signal.  The ones he flogs are small hand-held devices that work without a mobile signal.

That's all I know; I personally don't see a need for it.

Nor me tosh, give bank details and let them transfer money for free.

Why incur an extra expense to the business?

I'm not sure if he sells them individually; I think he employs guys who do the actual selling; so I don't think so.

But my point was really about the mobile signal.  I know many of my posh customers live out in the sticks where mobile signals aren't very good.

We use Payatrader which seems to work well for us. The customers can pay via debit card on the website or use the point of sale terminal on the job. Cheaper than Paypal. Customer service is great.

I think it's a great idea to get Eskimos to do all the collecting .
