Urethane most likely so try paint stripper. I'd do a test 1stDarran
Stuart-perhaps the best course is to find the builder (ask the customer) and find out what was used. There is always a ying to the yang. All the suggestions (no offence) are guesses. It may seem long winded to make the call to the builders but you know you'll get exactly the right product. Time how long you do your research and add it to the job price. Then you'll know the job will be the best it can be.

Why don't you ring them, that way it looks like the customer has already resigned themselves to sorting it themselves. You can just say 'sorry to bother you but I'm cleaning at..... A tiny bit of product has got on the glass, would you mind telling me what you used PLEASE, IT'D REALLY HELP ME OUT. Ask it as a favour. Humans (in general) like to help/do favours/feel like they've got you in their pocket, the builder IME will usually help if he feels on a level with you.
