Hi guys hope everyone as had a good day!

Just wondering how often do you replace your brush heads?
Had my super lite gardiners brush for about a year, bristles starting to go soft and hard to get bird muck off windows etc.
Is it time to replace brush.

How often does everyone else replace?

i think people replace brush heads to readily a lot of the time, i don't worry about a bit of a ragged brush with birds muck i scrub it and then come back to it so your never really working very hard, a soaked birds mess will come off with anything. i have had gardiners brushes with bristlls all over and still they are quick light and good, if you do fancy a new brush though i have been very impressed with the sill brushes

Lots of cleaners on here say they only change the brush when they get a new pole, but i think every 3 months would be better to keep working fast  

Plus get some 1.4 mm jets i just got some from gardiners and they are much better than the 2mm ones much quicker rinsing

Usually soak my brush in pure water overnight ready for the next days cleaning.
This doesn't damage the brush does it

Tarts  work them hard and save your money  When there almost as as bold as a Nuns c@*t buy a new one

I found the sill brush looses shape far quicker than the others

Only time I've bothered with this is when they get contaminated with  stuff that sticks to the bristles for longer periods. We have the contract for all of our local water board sites, offices and industrial. The sewage treatment works are cleaned using a cherry picker but with WFP. These windows are only done twice a years and the greasy deposits that come off the glass turn the white bristles black, after the first annual price increase I factored in the cost of three new Gardiner brush heads   water company don't care, it's all small change to them, all they are concerned with is good quality service and most importantly sound health and safety on their premises. I even factored the cost of an IPAF course into the quote as they insisted this was necessary on their premises

have used them for longer in the past, but i dont think it gives a good impression to the customer if it looks battered.

I had to change my last one because the sticker was upside down - had loads of customers complain.

I'm sure a new brush cleans the snail trails & bird crap off the window quicker than a 5 month old brush that has been used every day.

Plus you can sell the old brush on ebay for double what it cost in the first place

Brush heads should be changed regularly and I'm not just saying this because of the fact that I sell brushes  

What happens over time is that the fairly square cut end of the bristle becomes worn with use and becomes pointed and finer. This will make an older brush feel softer and will mean it does not scrub well. The brush itself may still look in fine shape despite this, but you may suspect it is not cleaning quite as aggressively as when new.

What would be the recommended cycle for replacement? This really depends on the work load of the brush. For some this may mean 3-4 months for most it would mean 6-12 months. For some light users you may be able to get 18 months from a brush. I personally change about 4-6 months on the brushes that are used all the time by all the team. Other brushes which are used less often last up to 2-3 years.
