Just fitted my poles with a clamp upgrade.The thing is, no one mentioned that the clamp is spring loaded. Its what make the difference in this new clamp keeping pressure on the pole section.The new glue supplied with this upgrade is really good stuff.Well down Alex for a well thought out upgrade.

Maybe it's because all my poles are new but not overly impressed with the new clamps
I get more spins now than I did with older style clamp as they seem to unwind themselves when opening and closing

Sound like your clamp bolts could do with being adjusted up a little tighter. Try tightening them by a turn or two and see how they operate then. Drop me an email on alex@agardiner.co.uk and let me know how you get on.

I think everyone has the same problem, you get them perfect for an hour or so, then they need adjusted. I can live with that though, it has to be better than binning the whole pole or farting around with 2 part and sand paper every few week's.

Shouldn't need adjusting this often - sounds like the nylock is not working on the bolts. I adjust mine about once a month maximum.

Doesnt this equate to about 2 days work nowadays Alex  only kidding

Cheeky, but true 

The pole is in use about 3 days a week on average and has had the new clamps in position for over a year now. The pole itself is the very first prototype Xtreme25 so has seen a lot of use since it was first built. It does have a non-standard top section and only three smart clamps on.

Have to fiddle with mine every day. Can't tell if the pole is wearing so fast or the clamps are winding loose. Had to glue another one back on yesterday. In spite of all that I think they are a huge improvement over the old ones.

i adjust mine every day, bnut i still like the clamps they dont spin at all i have a month old clx with them on

Ive been surprised how much ive had to adjust them, at least once a day...
They seem to work themselves loose.
To be fair its not massive deal, and i'd imagine they work quite well as the pole wears

I have the old clamps on my SLX22 and one came lose so I pulled it off. I was thinking of getting a set of new clamps, but having read some reviews i'm not so sure now. I glued the old clamp back on and...job done. It works fine, as do the rest of them.

Yep at least once a day and always sections 1 and 3 I will tighten up a little more but I'm certain the nut is working itself loose, it's not a big deal but as the saying goes its s@ds law the section will spin when reaching 15 ft over a conny 

I hope it's not wear !!   Usual adjustment is 3 full turns in a day

I am a big fan of gardener poles I only buy from them, but I have to say to make you buy the new clams and for you to have to put them on and still not that good to me very annoying, I have just today had a 18 foot pole delivered used it today and the pole still came loose and had to fiddle with it not good at all, I had to say this as not that happy,
