That looks very naughty. There is a small chance somebody else has set up the redirect address and that this is nothing to do with facelift, I doubt it though.

Maybe everybody should phone up facelift and ask for Alex with a bunch of technical questions. Can you imagine the response, "Alex who? He don't work here but we've had loads of these calls today."

Simon.

I would be very surprised if this has anything to do with Facelift. More likely it was someone who has a grievance with Gardiners or just a prank.

Wouldn't it be great if things were that innocent!

Check the list of outgoing links from this domain - all to either Mike at Facelift or WCW  ;D

Thanks for you feed back on this. We were advised by a web company to use this as a cheaper (and longer lasting) form of adwords.

For example type in Pure Freedom in google and Pure2o pops up as a advert, is this not pretty much the same thing? Anyhow I've had a chat to the web guys who have got pretty trigger happy with domain names (we own a lot of different site names) and got them to redirect any links we have like this to Alex's site and will even transfer them over if he wants them. Certainly wont be renewing them.........

"a cheaper form of adwords" Lol, what a pathetic and lame thing to say.

You are a cyber squatter, plain and simple.  Lowest form of scum on the internet.

I'll never buy anything from WCW or facelift as long as I live.

And don't bother trying to blame staff or go on as if its no big deal, its your responsibility and you should be highly ashamed.

Also, your reference to Pure freedom and Pure2o is an adwords advert as stated, but completely different to the way that you have manipulated a domain name for your own benefit.

Therefore, there is no comparison whatsoever!  >:(

I would seriously suggest that you stop dealing with said web company immediately, that is very amateur advice they have given you which could potentially cost your business a very expensive lawsuit.

For example type in Pure Freedom in google and Pure2o pops up as a advert, is this not pretty much the same thing?  No, no it is not the same thing. Any reputable web design company will tell you this.

Pete, a little bit dramatic, don't you think? I don't think for one second that someone would mistake Gardiners for Facelift should the domain come up, it is certainly stupid on our part and we'll probably make more mistakes in the future (but not this one!). Sorry you so upset and feel so strongly about this, I'm not blaming staff at all to be honest didn't really see it as that much of a big deal. Wrong on that one.

Deegee, your right there! I think  their idea was if someone type up that domain Facelift would appear in the listings as an alternative. Certainly not attempt of 'cyber squatting' as some have accused.

No, the idea was that someone who mis-types gardiners address comes to you instead.  Its completely obvious what you've done, and I've seen it done before.  That is cyber squatting, and a practice and low-lifes.

My sister-in-law had a small cake decorations business that she built up from scratch, and the same thing happened to her by a low-life piece of internet scum who thought they had the right to profit from her year's of hard work and honest business.  It took her months to get it resolved and very nearly cost her the business she'd worked so hard to build.

By trying to wriggle out of it with laughable excuses is actually making you look much worse.  There's no forgiveness for you in my eyes.  You're only acting contrite and making excuses now because you're getting a backlash on here.  Otherwise you'd happily have carried on with this domain for years i'm sure.

The people who do this sort of underhand thing wouldn't know honest business if it bit them on the behind.

Wrong on that one. Will you be man enough to publicly apologise To Gardiners? But then I don't care either way as I also will not buy from you again, dramatic I know.

Actually Pete, 'cyber squatting' is taking a domain like www.PeteThompson.com and then holding onto it with the intent of charging you many times it's value to release it. In some case the squatter would go to the lengths of putting derogatory comments on the web domain in an attempt to force the potential owner to buy it off them. This is certainly not the intention in any way, shape of form.

TBH not after your forgiveness and not trying  to 'wriggle' of it or make excuses. Made a mistake which is now rectified and lesson learnt. It's simply a case of taking some wrong advice.

What can I say, we screwed up! If we beyond forgiveness in your eyes, then i apologise, I hope your future mistakes aren't taken so harshly and you aren't condemned so easily.
