Water Freezing - Heater Idea?
«

Set off this morning at 5am started work only to watch the pipe line start to freeze, 20 minutes into the job and no water from the brush head as the pipe was now solid!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Idea?
What are your thoughts on placing a fish tank heater into the tank and warming the water up, how would that affect the TDS reading. I reckon it should be ok and with warm water the chance of freezing in the first few hours is less and by then the day will warm up enough to stop the freezing, I hope??
What do you reckon?

Hi Jeff,
I was thinking of using a 240v heater as I can provide mains to the van, that system your showing i guess would take the temp very high? i just wanted to get it up in the 40 degree mark?
regards,
Trev

Hopefully springs round the corner and we wont have any worries till next winter.
I dont find a van mount of any benefit to the way I work. If its going to be freeze hard I take a couple of 5 gall containers indoors and leave them by the overnight radiator, gives me an edge when starting in the morning on normal freezing days. So your 40 degrees will give you the same edge. I would email Andrew from andwat and ask him, hes a gen bloke with good info.

Just seen this thread.
A mate of mine also wfp user, bought one of these,
http://www.mrheater.com/productdetail.asp?id=678
He initially ordered it from the states, but got messed about and ended up getting a refund he has since sourced it from a place in southhampton, will get the company asap, he's away for a few days.
However sure i have seen something similar in the local camping shop.
Just an idea,
Rob

I noticed that Ionics do a heated water system. They are pricey and out of my league for the work that I do - but....
Has anyone got one?
How does it rate?
