Dear Admin

any chance of a Goolge plus share button within the posts? This would help users and cleanitup reach more people. how about a view only for visitors? this would mean that your advertising would reach more eyes and thats got to be good for you?

wow do you really need that many? cant see the wood for the trees sorry

plus all any of these buttons do is take you to the log in thats no good.

as I said it needs to be set so people and the robots can read the posts. whats the point of a share button if you then have to sign up. people will not do that these days without seeing what its all about. you have some great info and users on here that can benefit from exposure. say I am looking to use any carpet cleaner and i find two in my area so i do a name search, (which by the way many do) I get two that i like. I get hundreds of results from one expert that comments and helps others and the other one just their site. which one am I going to use?

If you join up the dots your directory with all the info is a great resource but its not good behind a wall. I tried this on some on my blogs and readership dropped right off because i installed a wall. other cleaning forums have it so you can read posts without login. for the casual searcher this is a must.

On your blogs, what type of person is coming back to read them every time you post? I'm presuming you know who they are and why?

It's not expensive, you just can't afford it.

any movement on this issue just tried to use twitter works if signed in but still no go when signed out

with all the advertising on this site it would make sense not to have a wall. might as well have a pay wall. national newspapers think any type of wall works against the brand.

I find it hard to believe any member of public would want to read a carpet cleaning blog

If you know your customer I'm sure you can have all sorts of things, not directly connected with carpet cleaning. I think from what I've seen people are blogging with other cleaners in mind which I think is a bad idea.

That's why I was interested in Ian's rationale but I've asked twice and he obviously doesn't want to answer for some reason.

Wynne

are you asking about this forum or my blogs?

the issue here is that this forum uses adverts but limits the reach of those adverts to people out side the users of this forum.

Say i find a post that i would like to use on my social sites that I use those carpet cleaners might not want to join here, and those adverts would not then be shown to them. that's silly.

plus you want to show your prospects that your an expert and can do this by referencing your answers within this forum.

Prospects do do research on carpet cleaners and by using your stats on your site you see when this happens. So thats how i know people do want to read this stuff.

using my past example, would you as a customer use a tradesmen that's active on the internet or one that's not?

say your going for a big commercial job and they do a check on you. you would want them to be able to see you know your stuff would you not?

its called leverage

haha, I'm not sure most on here would want whats said being read by the customer.

I can't see a commercial client wanting to check out a carpet cleaner, they are not that interested. All that matters to them is price.

If I use a plumber, I couldn't care less if he one that chats on a pluming forum all day or weather he's one that doesn't.

Maybe that's just me?

It probably other carpet cleaners searching your name from here.

When carpet cleaners are slow on work that's what they do, and call around other carpet cleaners pretending to be customers and trying to see if they are busy. It never helps their situation btw.

yes and some dont use this forum and so dont see the adverts. the two go together openness and advertsing, no good have advertising and then limiting the people that can see it, I sure the people placing the adverts would want as many carpet cleaners to see those advert?

plus it been said that many would not like their customer to see what they write here thats got to be good for all those members that want to post but dont because they see the negative stuff going on, respect goes a long way. from what i can see usage is down here and you have to ask the question why?

Hi Guys,

Thanks for the interest here, we only like to share within our community, only members can view the content of Clean It Up. The reason for this is so that members can talk freely about pricing, customers and other data that may be sensitive to the public. I'm sure many members wouldn't want their customers to be able to find them on here chatting about pricing up their house or how to clean their windows/carpets etc.

Thanks,

Mitch.
