taking card payments at the doorstep

what's the best or the most cost efficient way to take card payments from customers at the door using say your iphone

also is natwest bringing out a similar system to pingit?

i have been looking at worldpay zinc
£59.99 for the terminal then 2.75% per payment

You dont have to be a barclays customer to have pingit, im with lloyds but use pingit for free

iPad using gocashless?

They take 1% of transction

Problem woul be it only works if they've got an email address, but means you can set a direct debit for future payments on the door.

You could use a cardsave account for one off payments using the iPad too. 

Could of course do this on an iPhone, or other smartphone, but for me the screens make it a bit fiddly and look amateurish

doesn't the customer have to have some connection with barclays or have pingit

I use iZettle, it requires 3g or Wifi to connect to but these days that not so much of an issue to find signal

They charge £20 for the card reader but give you a £20 voucher to redeem against your fees they also take 2.75% of the transaction

You are also required to register an account with them

Izettle on facebook.normally free.
Takings off all first cleans till march 7th 2014
October  total=  cleaned  extra per month
November = cleaned extra per month
Total £  so far.

you must have lovely intelligent customers, im sure my lot would accuse me of a scam

 when i went over to bank transfer couple of years ago now  ,several of my customers paid their house rent into my account cos they didnt know what they were doing. when i told them their mistake and asked for their bank details to do a refund ,they said oh no you dont and wanted cash only !

That's for the stand alone chip n pin reader

The original post was about talking card payments with an iPhone
The reader that connects to the bottom of the iPhone is £20 when ordered the ought their website, this is also available for other phones and can be use not throu the bottom connector but through the earphone jack plug
