Free websites
« on: July 25, 2013, 09:41:55 pm »
I decided to give Wix a go to set up a free website and I'm very pleased with the results, all it's cost me so far is £8 for the domain name for 2 years and £8 for the hosting per month so I've only spent £16 on it so far.
It only took a few hours to do the text and upload pics. So if anyone is thinking of a website and is on a budget like I am I'd say Wix is well worth a go.

I don't mind paying hundred quid a year if it gets me some work.
That company you use is very cheap though.
Do they have templates for making the website, Wix was very easy.

Hmm, might consider changing then as I've only got a rolling monthly deal with Wix and my domain is registered with 123. Thanks for the advice mate

Go to your home page, right click on it & select "view source" - - see all that wix nonsense in the source ode after the header tags??

The wix custom code is as unreadable to google as it is to you & me,.. so no matter how good your wix site looks, its going to be VERY hard to get a decent Google search ranking with it.

Yes I gathered that this would be the main problem with a free website, getting a decent google listing. Unfortunately at this moment in time I can't afford to pay someone like you to do it properly and get me high on a google search.
But at least I can now put a web address on my flyers etc and people can find out more info about us and about the pure water system.

Is the £8 per month with the e-mail service?

Your e-mail address should be

If you buy the 4.99 a month package from 1and1.co.uk and upload a free template you'd get a much better result that Wix will ever give.  ;)
