Scabbing Lurkers is more descriptive.
It's not expensive, you just can't afford it.

They should really ban people that don't have a certain amount of post count per day average. Would get rid of some of the takers.

Yes... That makes perfect sense now
Briefly i thought that it meant something to do with the Government? lol
I have joined this forum to learn about perfecting tecniques & am interested about members reviews on the vast array of cleaning products to choose from & which ones work best etc etc, Also about the various different items of equipment available... "Pro's & Cons" of this & that... also to try & help out with advice myself if & when i can... I have done courses with Ashbys & prochem on carpet cleaning about 12 years ago... but i feel i could maybe do some more courses to keep updated & with the times... I use nearly exclusively Ashbys cleaning products, but feel there are probably more superior products within the Prochem range, which i would be happy to try... However i do get great results most of the time... sometimes there are marks that refuse to come out no matter what, but i guess that happens to most of us from time to time? I mean if we could bring Every carpet back to new Every time, then we could charge a fortune... or maybe thats just me & you guys get that result already? All i know is that i clean every carpet like it was my own, never leave a carpet wet & give 110% no matter how long it takes me, I like to leave every job knowing that i couldnt have possibly got it any cleaner... Im a bit of a perfectionist & it helps havig good kit! i dont think i would get the same satisfaction if i used a vax..lol
That is the reason why i am here... :)

wow mike, bit of a sweeping statement there, its an advertisement page for my area not my friends page, why would you think my friends were cheap and also how do you know your leafleters friends are all chavs and dolies..

Why were people going onto your advertisement page and asking.....

"Does anyone know any CHEAP carpet cleaners"   ??? ???

I have seen my guys Facebook page, calling the chavs & dolewallers is paying them a complement ;) ;) scagheads and thieves would be closer to the truth ;D

Did'nt mean any offence with my questions ( not statements ) just trying to look at it from a different angle

I think you may find that these people your talking about have more spear money in there pocket every week then most of your custy mike

trust me your middle glass 2,4 children type people are living week buy week and doley scumbags are doing very well !!! bet there have a bigger tv then you !all the sky channels , and smoke and drink the weight everyday

I found that all the time when I used to do work in lower class households. Schemie people all seem to have big TV's!! Its like their goal in life, to have a huge telly.

Hardly a indication of wealth though or how much disposable income they have  ::)roll

I'm not bothered about a persons wealth I'm more bothered about if they want their cleaning done at the price I quoted demographically the 2.4 family seems to fit my business nicely.

I have 2 staff members that do all my work through facebook.
the maximum I can charge on there to get work is .....

1 room £15
2 rooms £26
then £10 per room there after.
they all expect free deodiriser

we use a prochem truckmount so not a cheap carpet clean.

we find a lot of people we get from facebook are on benefits and still say are prices are too high.

we are expected to keep to the above prices even if we travel 30 miles away.

a lot of the work cancels on the day and a lot of them only book in for 1 room to be cleaned so don't really benefit apart from giving my company a respectable name

Ben,
Sounds like FB is more of a liability than an asset.

I remember a very similar thread on here a year or two ago on here basically saying Adwords was rubbish. Everyone chimed in saying yeah I tried that once and didn't work. The odd person said they did well on it either by luck or had actually figured it out. I think the same is true with FB now.

awww, Ben them margins are tight.

I think you should make the rules not your customers.

Set a min order of £65, your never look back.

I am a member of a "mummy and parent" Facebook page... I find women on there post messages such as "does anyone know of any cheap carpet cleaners?" These are women from wealthy areas with nice homes who can afford a quality job done.
I think people just like to feel like they are getting a bargain but in the back of their minds they know a cheap job is going to be exactly that!
The amount of women who have moaned about Groupon carpet cleaning deals is quite unbelievable... "I paid £80 for my 4 bed house and the carpets still looked dirty once they has gone"

" last guy charged me 110 pounds for my frontroom and you have done it for 35 and its cleaner and dryer and you have used that massive cleaner outside !"

me " because he ripped you off , must of been one of them new guys" that's trained to rip off there customers  ;D

should see the look on there faces when I say that !

The Facbook side can get you a lot of work. We don't use it much now because the army is pulling out of Guurmany soon, so we're going into the German side of the game from next year.
I used to post this ad in various Facebook groups and local pages.:

UPHOLSTERY CLEANING Quotes are FREE. Why not join our group for future reference. We work within 80 KM's of Herford. You can call us on 05221 34 644 0 or on our Facebook page WE ALSO PROVIDE INSURANCE VERIFICATION FOR CLAIMS.
http://www.facebook.com/group.php?v=wall&gid=217388302773

We used to paste that up every week and had over 400 members in the group at one stage. It would bring in about €1000 to €2000 worth of work per month, so was worth 15 minutes work a week to post the ad in the groups.
These groups we posted in were army interest groups, buy and selling pages, hobby pages etc. Free advertising and good results.

Ofcourse, because it's army we're working with, we don't have any dolies or chavs lol  ;D

Chris don't the 'group' pages get annoying at you posting an ad? don't they delete the post?

No mate, I always ask when joining if they mind me popping an ad in every week. Never had a refusal. Just good manners I suppose, and it must make a good impression as others just spam, and as an admin, that must be annoying.

Over here, it's easy because the Brit market is compact and has many pages and groups. Not sure about areas in the UK mate. Perhaps local hobby groups, riding school groups. Local rugby team groups and other sports. etc etc

One I post on is a police page.
