Gardiner's new clamps and brushes
« on: July 22, 2013, 01:31:02 pm »
This weekend we put sets of clamps and brushes on my SLX22 and my "SLX20".

Minor niggle 1:- The glue remained slightly sticky to the touch.

Minor niggle 2:- One clamp didn't stick at all and I used twinpack resin instead for that one clamp

Positives - all clamps can be closed and no adjustment needed and this on a 3 yr old and 5 yr old pole.

If you haven't done it yet then do it now.

Will do the extreme soon ...

I've been using a few of the medium dual trim extreme brushes and I have to say they are a vast improvement.  I use hot water even in this weather and a concern of mine was the brushes loosing shape, however so far they have kept their shape well.  The splay on the brush is also perfect, you can clean upstairs sills with it moderately well also.  Another concern was that it would loose bristles but as yet not one bristle has gone, which is a massive improvement over the previous generation brushes.

i find the new clamps great as well.came as standard on my new extreme 25 footer with the new extreme brush.they feel "beefier" then earlier extreme brushes yet they weigh even less!top marks! ;D ;D

my new extreme 47 came with the old clamps as they were in the sale but they should last a few years as this pole wont get used half as much as the 25.

i upgraded all the clamps on my other poles but sold the slx 25 and supermax 40.still got the slx22 as a spare though.

If you buy your clamps for your extreme 47 now you get a 50% discount if you bought it after 7th (I think)  May 2012. Gardiners gave me the set at 50% off  even though I bought mine on May 1st.

I've not fitted them yet but it was worth it for the saving.
