 New Thermobore™PLUS 100m Reinforced Hose 8mm ID from gardiner, any good for cold water?

Gardiners say that it will remain flexible down to low temperatures so it should be ok for cold water use. As it has a slightly larger diamt than the normal stuff, getting it on to a smaller hose reel may be a challenge. I'm convinced my steel hose reel will hold that length, but it would be heavier getting it in and out of the van.

Ive just ordered 100m of 6mm... look forward to its arrival as mine has a leak that is really peeing me off  ;D

I have the normal size thermobore. I'm on my second reel now, the first lot grew a fair bit bigger with hot water use. It seems pretty hard wearing but will go a bit stiff with cold water in the winter months.

gardiners 8mm hose is a back breaking killer ive took the lot of my reel today just put 6mm on instead

My Gardiners 8mm is constantly having tiny pin prick holes leaking water, its about 10 meters shorter and getting trimmed again tomorrow.
But I do like the reels!!

ben ive got the 6mm thermobore.had it over 18 months with no problems.its fine in both cold and warm conditions.fantastic tough hose.it gets driven over hundreds of times a month as well. ;D

it is slightly heavier than other 6 mm hoses so your new 8 mm thermobore will be heavier and harder to manage than the 6 mm version.also it will be cumbersome to get it to fit if you have a small reel.

Na not thermobore, the normal stuff. and i use cold water mate.

well 8mm hose is heavier and thicker than 6mm hose so it will be harder to reel in/out,pull round corners and loop together in your hands ben.
