Hi guys I recently replaced my six clamps as a lot of us windes have recently, but I have had four clamps fail in four working daysI followed the gluing video to the letter, when I have taken the clamps off the glue underneath was like powder,is it possiable with the extreme heat that I have been working in could have caused the clamp glue to fail or was it just a bad batch of glue ? Oliver Collins
One of mine fell off too - Gardiners had fitted new clamps for me. The old glue could be rubbed off easily and had very little adhesion - no glue was left on the plastic clamp at all. Made it very easy to clean up though.
There seem to be quite a few failing. Mine didn't work, yet I mixed for a decent duration and very thoroughly. What is annoying is that Gardiner's won't warranty the clamps if you use glue other than theirs. At least that is what I was told over the phone.

However we of course have a standard warranty on the structure of clamps themselves as a retail supplied product.

EDIT: Regarding the warranty, I am merely repeating what I was told by a member of staff. That if you don't use Gardiner's glue, then the clamps aren't warrantied. It stuck in my mind because a new clamp snapped and was replaced (not quite without a quibble as I had to send a photograph and await a decision) and I was told that if I used Araldite then the clamp wasn't warranteed so perhaps there was a communication/training issue.
and when you rest the pole on a flat roof and pull it down sharply, lol i guess thats not noraml use :-)
