« on: July 15, 2013, 05:02:04 pm »
Have to clean a set of stairs, large landing and 2 bedrooms, which are all sisal,in an eot, don't look to badly soiled.
Is this powder ok on sisal ?
It's a 4 bed manor house, other rooms not sisal,so will be doing hwe on those.
Thanks, been trying to get through to a supplier, but sick of waiting on the phone,so prob get an answer here quicker.

I think Russ Chadd did a sisal with the powder and it came up well.

Yes, it's ok... A decent vac first does most of the cleaning!
Last time I did sisal (last week) I didn't even bother with the dry compound, the vac was good enough - Sisal doesn't clean very well (IMHO).

I tried sebo duo P on sisal and the result was rubbish, I felt bad taking the custys money. Craftex do something called Ecotex for sisal and seagrass I haven't tried it but it might be worth a look.

Oh well too late now,got it on order, what i have to clean is tightly woven, looks more like a thick hessian type of sack cloth.
The custy was really only wanting boxes ticked,I was just going to give it a very through vac,he was the one that suggested the dry powder.

Mark

If it's what I think it is then it will be a nightmare to vac the sponges out of it.

They get caught in the embossed bits (and really show up as well!).

The Duo will almost certainly bounce around. We used a HOST machine with super soft brushes but I vowed never to do noe like that again.

Oh really, well the fact that it's a big old  manor house, with wonky stairs and landings and the stuff is folded at the edges and nailed down, does not fill me with joy about doing the job, booked in for next Friday, maybe I should have just got some shake and vac   ;D.
Should have taken a pic really, but yes it's sort of ribbed, bit like lattice type stuff, with some strands being thicker than others
