Are you sure you haven't bought a hosepipe?

13mm is half inch hosepipe diameter you probably want microbore or minibore instead.

Looking on the website, it seems like you may have bought the Thermobore plus. What colour is the hose?

Mmm, strange. Looked again on the site, the weight diff between normal minibore and the thermal stuff of the same colour is minimal, only. 2 of a kg. 11.1 & 11.3. The red Thermobore is another 2kg heavier. They haven't changed the colour have they? Best ring em up and, maybe Mr. G might be on later?

I've got that yellow minibore from Gardiners and I think there's just over a 100 metres of it compared to my other reel. Mine are fixed so I haven't noticed the weight. Very flexible but uncoils of the reel too easily where I think it's too slippy and new. Needs to wear in a bit I think.

Hi David

The Minibore is 8mm ID and it is quite a bit larger and heavier than the 6mm ID Microbore. Both the Minibore and the Microbore hoses we now sell have a good wall thickness with excellent strength so may be a little heavier/bulkier than other economy hoses on the market.

Most hose sizes are nominal so can vary slightly. Whilst a hose is rated at 13mm OD it may actually be nearer to 12.5mm. Another 13mm hose may be nearer to 13.5mm. These variances in tolerance can make a noticeable difference over 100m of hose.
