Have a new gx 390 and its only done around 80-90 hours since arriving, its a pull start and used to fire up immediately even if you gave it half a lazy pull, Now it needs 4-5 attempts to get her going in the morning, once fired up she's great, ran very low on gearbox oil 2 days ago due to bubble stuck on top of sight glass giving the appearance she was full, now i only check thru filler cap, worried this may have had a detrimental effect, any info would be great

I might be wrong but I think you are supposed to change the oils after the first 50 hours on a brand new machine? So I'd change both oils, check spark plug and air filter, clean as needed.
It's a new machine so starting to bed in, do the above things and you shouldn't have any problems, I use a 390 sometimes it starts first time sometimes not just have to get the choke right.

had same problem and got advice on here to make sure petrol tap was in the off position before transporting the machine to the job. did this and never had problem since. if i forget and leave the fuel tap open it is very difficult to start.
