Hi guys,

I could really do with boosting my website rankings and I was wondering if anyone would be able to recommend a company who isn't going to charge the earth.

Cheers,

Stu.

Stu,

it may help if you actually publish your website on to the web.

Then you could register on the incredible cleaners directory and get Nottingham web design to do the SEO. Simples.

When they ranked yes. When they did not no.

Luckily, the people the sites are targeted at seem to like them.

Here's a quote from an e mail from yesterday.... "Firstly, congratulations on a very eye-catching website."

In fairness, they were done when I was playing about with graphics a couple of years ago. I will probably do a few things differently now.

Lately, I've been using video recording on some of my none cleaning sites (eye tracking, mouse movement tracking, click throughs, heat maps etc).

The site records each visitor as they move around the site. You basically get a video of each person that visits that shows where they click, which bits they read etc. That was really surprising and has led to me changing the layout on my newer sites - based on how the visitors move around the site. One site has about 1,800 videos which gives a pretty good idea of what is needed.

I find the net rubbish I rank hi in the listings and the Adwords are a waste of money .I'm finding the top ones on google have great web sites with very low prices so you don't a lot of calls wich is a shame because I'm pretty good at converting when I do get them . I dont like paying £3.50 per click then they don't call. For me leaflets work a lot better  :) del

I think you could be missing out then. A very high percentage of new business comes from websites. It's not all about price, people tend to read through them before ringing you and if your website says the right things, then they may already chosen you subject to the price,( which doesn't need to be the cheapest)

Do not have a much experience with adwords, but what I know is: do not let the company do it for you, you will pay a profit to them, if you are not computer efficient then get somebody to set a campaign for you only.
In this sector, carpet cleaning, for regional searches you should not be spending more then 150-200 pounds per month paying yourself to adwords.
3,5 per click? oh jesus :)

There's a company called, Search Engine Easy, they do a good deal on Adwords and set it all up for you.

I agree with Simon here.

I got involved with websites through writing copy for people. I firmly believe that if a website does it's job properly, then a person should be pretty much sold on using your services BEFORE they call.

Websites are out there working for you, as a salesperson, 24 hours a day. They hardly demand any pay and don't eat.

Google will set up your adwords for free.

Make sure you switch off the display network options to save your budget.

Don't tell them/fill ithe box as to how much a lead is worth to you either when they ask.

In fairness, Google have made Adwords slightly easier to use.

It's a real shame that they are phasing out the external keyword tool though.

So that you will spend more money. Greedy so n sos.

If you are higher priced your keywords need to reflect that. Focusing on CC <area> is costly for anyone unless you know a nice neighbourhood you could target which isn't the main town.

Then you need a page that marries up with the advert not your homepage.
It's not expensive, you just can't afford it.
