Just ran a Westpack wand fitted with a glide (white) to dry off some rugs using a triple vac portable.

Having never used one before I am really disappointing how much water was left in the rug.

Switched over to a standard wand and the difference was dramatic.

Whats your thoughts?

I also found that I needed to hold it really low to get any kind of contact too.

Maybe they are suited to thos under 6ft tall???

they have a slight tilt, if your really tall then  take it off, turn it round and put it back on again. not sure why your using a glide on a rug unless your injured or lazy.

I did wonder if it was on back to front. The guy that traded it in is a good bit shorter than I am.

Even with it down below thigh level I felt it was poor.

The reason for this is because it is restricting the wand nozzle similar to being half clogged with a glob of lint & debris. Therefore, yes, your conclusions were correct in my experience.

However, the real purpose of a Glide is to help make the wand nozzle move easier (which it does) and/or, not allow it to "lock down" in certain situations thus causing interruption of airflow .

This is nothing new.

Jamie, i find this also the glide makes life easier but with out it i find the wand sucks more moisture up

Glides make wands easier to use but there real advantage is that they leave carpets a lot drier, like only slightly damp after cleaning. If you're leaving carpets wetter than that you've got the wrong glide or you ain't using it properly.
