looking to change things round a little bit,

if so what is your response customer wise ?

not wanting hypothetical answers , just those that actually do them please

Hello mate and in response to your question we do work weekends. We started up about 18 months ago working weekends only as we (myself and my best mate) both have/had full time jobs. We quickly built up a very profitable round and I now also do two days during the week. It is getting to the point were I/we need to make a decision to go full time at it or not but we have decided to plough on over the winter and see how it works out early next year. All positive so far so fingers crossed.Customers are great and working a weekend means that you catch them in a lot of the time so build up good relationships.
Hope that helps and anymore questions please feel free to ask.
Paul.

Work Saturdays and have Mondays off. Wouldn't even think about working on people's houses on Sundays!

I work Saturdays and never find it a problem.
Don't start as early because some people like to sleep late and might get annoyed at being
disturbed.
Never work Sunday I honestly believe when you do a manual job you need at least one day
of rest to recharge the batteries.
What you would gain on Sunday you would lose over the rest of the week through being over
tired. But then Im 50.
Saturday for me isn't about extra cash its about not having to work in the minus temps over
the winter months.

when i first started out i didnt want to work weekends due to family.

then got a few that wanted only saturdays, and now as always i work every saturday, not always full days, maybe 2 full ones then 1 half day and then one only for a few hours,

one thing i have noticed though you do tend to pick more up at weekends because people are in and see you and ask you.

but never work on a sunday.

i try and keep my weekends free if possible but as my girlfriend is working all day saturdays in her shop i do tend to work maybe 2 a month but i start later and tend to finish a bit earlier.

i dont work sundays.although i have when i was trad occasionally with no problems whatsoever.

the fact is you can work 7 days a week if you want! ;D ;D ;D

i try and work 3 weeks a month and have the other week off.i dont always succeed depending on what works due but i try!! ;D ;D ;D
price higher/work harder!

In ten years of window cleaning I have worked 2 Saturdays. I have 3 kids and I became a windy to see more of them.
A manager is generally someone who has been promoted to the position by someone else who didn't see them as a threat.
Hence all people are promoted to the level of their incompetence

I work every Saturday - canvassing all day, usually pick up quite a few customers as lots of people are home.

sfwc what do you mean by desperate mate?
Like I said in my post we have to work weekends as we have other jobs and are working our socks off to get the business off the ground. We have been going about 16 months and things are going much better than expected. Doing things this way means we have to work weekends-we really don,t have a choice if we want it to be a success. The only desperation from us is we are desperate to do well and desperate to run a successful cleaning company. We are getting there slowly but surely and will work weekends until we have to do so.
Desperate men do desperate things!!!
 ;)
