Very Interesting blog with some very valid points. Looking from the outside - In My initial feeling is that there seems to be a communication issue between the FWC and its membership. I like the OBR post to join a trade group each business needs a compelling reason.

Im not a member of the FWC and never have been.
In fact I hardly know anything about them.
But I presume as a "federation" they act for and on behalf of it's members?
In recent years wfp window cleaners in certain parts of the country were facing difficulties because of a "hosepipe ban".
One water authority in particular covering the London/Essex area were making noises of banning wfp window cleaners from producing purified water because of the hosepipe ban.

How did the FWC get involved in that situation to protect or advise it's members who were under threat?

Does anyone know if the FWC were proactive in this matter?

Kind of... they were involved but it was lead and mostly fought for by Graig Mawlan, the FED takes the credit tho.

I got a call from Bryan Dalby late last night - he says that he has been inundated with emails about FWC SOS FB group and has asked me to tell people he cant get round to everyone, some questions he is unable to ask but he will do his best.

He could have his email notifications set to be received when anyone posts a message on facebook. I had to turn mine off as it was jammed with them.
