Google recently did a massive update which seamed to knock most people's organic listings. What they are trying to do is get more people to pay per click (adwords).
Ive spoken to my web designer and he has got me back to number 1 in the rankings but it wont last forever because of google  :-[

oh and I pay £17.50 per month and its the best money I have ever spent  ;D

£36 a month is cheap imagine you paying for a website with great seo with the money up front got to be at least a grand even more if you ask Steve Barnett.

Penguin 2.0 was an anti web spam algorithm change. It hit mostly porn, gaming and massive ecommerce sites. It should not have affected your site as you have not done anything obviously wrong. Have you cleared your browser cache (especially cookies) before checking rankings ?

Yell have had a lot of flack on these forums recently... I've running a cheap 12 month on-line ad deal with them at this time, which seems to be working okay (early days tho).

What works for some, may not work for others...  on-line advertising is just a part of the sales process.
