builders clean
« on: June 17, 2013, 06:09:53 pm »
Hi all. I think some on here do builders cleans in addition to window cleaning.

Just a few quick questions.

Say for example. Three bedroom house How long do they take? How much work is  involved? Is it generally one man work or a team? How much can you charge?

Regards

Colin

at least three times the amount of a window clean, use fresh new scrapers sopaed up plenty and use a scratch waiver, also get paid up front and if you really dont need the work dont bother they are a pain, expect it to take ages

Do you mean the general build clean on the house or just the build clean on the windows?

We look after quite a few sites for one of the bigger house builders. We subcontract the window cleaning from a general cleaning company who do all the internal cleaning apart from the windows. The general cleaning is done in 3 stages, build clean>reclean>sparkle clean. The windows are done in 2 stages, after the painters have finished we clean the windows, removing all tape from frames and cutting into the painted plaster ready for the Mastic to be applied. We then return and sparkle clean the windows in and out just before the homeowner moves in.

We work as a 2 man team and the houses take anywhere from 2 - 8 man hours to clean the windows depending on the size of the house. We clean anywhere from 2 - 12 houses per week at the moment.

It's hard work, far harder than regular maintenance window cleaning but it's work that can be done in any weather and its well paying and regular.

Thanks for the replies. I wanted a bit of info before I spoke to customer. I think he might be after the full clean which is a completely different ball game on a different section.

Cheers.

You work a hell of a lot quicker than me if you are doing 6 a day on your own.

Today we (2 of us) cleaned 4 x 3 bedders in and out and 2 x 4 bedders outside only. Worked from 8:30am - 3:30pm.
