Interchangeable Brush & Driveboard System
« on: June 12, 2013, 05:10:47 am »
This should interest all carpet cleaners who have Rotary Machines.

Essentially you buy a central clutch for your particular machine and then any grade of brush or driveboard can be fitted to your machine.  If you have several different machines every brush and driveboard will fit any machine!

I don't understand how this works ???

I buy a clutch that fits the bottom of my machine, how do individual brushes fit that clutch? Does each brush have to be adapted to fit that clutch? Eg; does it have a corresponding fitting screwed on the brush? Or do you have to cut the brush to fit the cutch?

Can't I already fit any brush by just buying the fitting plate  from the manufacturer and screwing it onto the brush ( unless the brush is rotamoulded plastic)

You buy a one off clutch to fit your machine and then we sell any size or grade of brush and driveboard to fit all clutches.  So ordinarily when you go out and buy a brush or driveboard for a machine you have to specify the make and size you want and then that brush or driveboard will only fit that machine.  With this system once you buy the clutch or centre piece for your machine the brushes and the driveboards we sell are universal.  Have you watched the Video where Antony is demonstrating fitting the same brushes to a Wirbel, Wetrok and a Nilfisk Scrubber Dryer?

I don't get it if you still have to get all your stuff from one company . So you may as well go to say numatic and they will still supply all you need ???

Great if you only have a numatic!

A major cost of a brush is in the clutch itself. Lets say you have 3 machine numatic, victor and a taski you buy one clutch for each of those machines. then the brush/driveboard that you need. Now with this system it will not matter which machine you take on a job because which ever you take the clutch will fit on the brush.

Before you would have to make sure that each individual brush/driveboard was right for the machine. Now someone has said that you can on some brushes just unscrew the plate on the brush and put another on this actually depends on the machine in that every machine is designed differently, causing issues on how effective your brush/driveboard or any other attachment is working it may affect the wear on the brush or the stability on the machine affecting its performance.

The new clutch plates however are quick to change over and are individually designed for that specific machine so you can be assured the stability issue will not be there. As for the brushes they are made to the highest quality and will give you great wear and longevity as well as there performance for the task in hand.

Still don't see the great revelation in this, I still need to buy a new fitting for every brush I have, I could do this with most machines.

I have a truvox, i have  4 different brushes, I contact truvox and buy 4 brush plates ..... hey presto !! I have 4 brushes that fit one machine.... How is this different from what you are suggesting?

You are looking at this with Tunnel vision and only seeing it from your side. Firstly you clearly only have one Rotary so you are not going to appreciate the interchangeable functionality of the system.  So that only leaves the financial advantage for you!  The system is designed for everyone:

1.  You would only benefit from a financial point of view
2.  Others with bigger companies and more machines will benefit from immediate stock, interchangeable if there were problems with any particular machine and the financial gains.
3.  Suppliers benefit because they can drastically reduce stock holdings, free up more cash and guarantee they will always have stock of any size, any grit brush or driveboard for any machine!

Agree with Kev, a great idea.

Mike just unscrew the centre of any head you have and then you can fit Kevs locking centre in to work it.

I will have to look at this soon as ive too many different rotaries

I've got 4 rotory type machines each with a brush and a bonnet drive board

Just so its clear in my head, I would fit each rotory with a new clutch fitting at the bottom, then I would have one corresponding fitting that would attach to every brush or drive board,

So to make all my rotorys and fitting universal I would need  to buy how many items at what cost?

I can see the big  advantages of a Universal system for large companies their employees could just grab any machine & any brush from the unit and off they go. And as they need new brushes they just  order them from Kev.

I have got a df machine and if I take up the special offer of the clutch plate and a brush for £140 inc vat then I am on a winner as df charge about £135 + vat for the brush alone.

Send me a list of your Rotary machines and I will work it out for you.  You need a clutch specific to each Rotary but they are a one off purchase then any Brush or Driveboard will fit any machine becuse the outer ring on the clutch will fit any brush or driveboard in the range

I just got the dry fusion one from Kev,  it saved me about £70 off the price of the one that dry fusion sells.
