set up time and cleaning times?
« on: May 27, 2013, 11:12:15 pm »
for all those with a twin/triple vac is my set up time about right it takes around 30-45mins for met to set hoses in houses, prime pump and have the machine ready to be filled and have pre spray mixed.

for this reason im thinking ive ive got to encourage more than 1/2 carpets to be done or find a quicker set up time machine for smaller jobs.

in addition i thought my triple vac would be quicker than the walk behind. it certainly complies with professional protocols of cleaning carpet. but it seems to takes a lot longer for me to clean carpet.
hoovering / pre-spray/agitatate/extract with fibre rinse is taking me over an hour on  a typical sized loungs found in a standard 3 bed semi for example. (compared to 30-45mons with walk behind)

am i doing something wrong here?

Set up time around 10 - 15 minutes. This includes unloading van. It takes two trips to take out everything from the van. (one trip with machine, anther trip everything else)

Filling machine doesn't take long. Use a hose or 15 litre bucket. Or two buckets, one in kitchen one in bathroom.

Pre-spray. 10 litres could last three jobs (depending on what your cleaning on each job obviously).

Is vacuuming necessary on every job?

wow that seems quick to me at the moment.

Is vacuuming necessary on every job? no, many already have vacummed tho some peoples idea of vacuuming leaves a lot to be desired (i wouldnt want them vaccing my house lol)

Mark, before I set up the machine I start with vacuuming first, then prespray and agitate the area and only after I am starting with puling the hoses into the house and electric cables for the machine, all is done within no more then 10 min while prespary works on the carpet.

Got it down to a fine art for single rooms.
1 hour 10 mins arrive to depart on most jobs.
Although tend to be a little longer if I linger
with tea/coffee.
Vac off and vac the room vac back on.
Mix pre spray spread and agitate.
Machine off fill, hoses and wand connected.
Re-stow any gear that's finished with.
Clean, empty machine and re-stow.
Impossible done straight away, miracles can take a little longer.

Hi

I have an Airflex twin vac, takes about 20 mins to setup so
I'm ready to rock n roll.
Do you have a separate heater?
Sometimes if there is hot water at the property I use that,
as it saves time connecting up the inline heater.
I have also thought about buying a Prochem Galaxy type
machine for doing the odd bedroom, as its smaller, easier
to transport, and the setup time would be faster I would imagine.

For an average sized lounge I would normally have the whole job wrapped up in 45 mins, 60 mins if I have the tea & biscuits !

Wouldn't bother with the pre vac also get a Hydroforce Sprayer saves time to and ditch the Fibre Rinse and use something like Formula 90.

yes sep inline heater and a airflex turbo triple vac. quite heavy, so certainly wouldnt take upstairs, and have certainly thought like you that a smaller machine for smaller jobs would suit me better.
