Hi all

I have done loads of pressure washing but not ever come across needing to use brik acid.

A quick question I have brick work to clean down on new builds with pressure washer.
Can brick acid be applied through chemical injector ? The chemical injecter on my petrol pressure washer is after the pressure washer pump before the hose.

Thank you in advance.

i'm not sure, but you can buy acid resistant chemical injectors for the end of the lance like this http://www.pressurewashoutlet.com/chemicalinjectorsacidadjustable.html

I have the injecter already the link sent me to the page of the injecter not anything to do with the lance. Is there any other chemicals that are effective that I can use to get off cement mortar and stains from the face of the bricks?

i wasn't talking about the chemical injector that's fitted on the pressure washer. what i showed you can fit on the end of the lance so that the acid only goes through the injector and nozzle.

Oh right sorry I understand now . I am using a telescopic lance I will see if this fits on the end of it. As this is all new to me how do others spray brick acid on the bricks before rinsing with a pressure washer ?

The dilution rate would make the acid too weak to have any effect

I try to swerve acid - I just tend to use the extending lance with a turbo and because you are low you wash across the pointing. The best way is to use the scaffold, picker or last resort ladder. Most site won't accept acid in rams

Cheers BDCS for your input. I'm quite happy to use my turbo on the end of my telescopic lance I'm sure that would give a good cleaning result as that. It's only site mangers have said to me that others have spayed the brickwork with brick acid first. Which made me wonder how its done without scaffolding and without ladders .

We use 36% HC and the mix is good through the venturi.

I brush on with a telescopic pole, then wash off with long lance

A venturi is a chemical injector - the water flow passes over the venturi or hole which causes a depression which sucks the chemical into the water flow - this suction of chemical into the water flow of the pressure washer is the dilution rate and can be adjusted by restricting the chemical flow

from ground level brush on 36% HC wash off with lance, don't try spraying acid above head level as wind will blow it all over the place endangering your self and others around you,
get them to hire you a cherry picker.
!! if it can get dirty it can get clean !!

Apologies for the old thread revival, but any suggestions on which brush/pole is suitable for use with 36% brick acid?

Seems a much better method than spraying on and getting lots of drift through the air.
