Im a window cleaner. (dont throw stuff)
A customer asked if I cleaned patio's not being the type to turn work down or away, because I know someone can do it and that someone might aswell be me.
So borrowed a karcher with patio cleaner, the plastic joiner broke in the process so had to finish it with a 2ft long lance. Job looked good when finished, I even remember what I got paid. That was it 2006 I think
So then a client of my dads wanted their block paving cleaned, so I went and priced it at £330, cleaned and re-sanded.
So found a second hand machine 13hp Honda on ebay with whirlaway for £750.00 bought that with the savings for the wedding. (I paid it back, convinced her it was an investment)
Spent 13 hours on that job, it was back breaking work, the machine wasn't drawing water and the customers flow rate wasn't great so I didn't have as much pressure as I needed and it took ages, then I had to go back and re sand, again that took ages. However I got paid and almost half the machine was paid for.
I advertised with customers and work slowly came in enough to pay for the machine within 6 months.
Then again through my dad got asked to quote for 3500 sqm of block paving in 6 car parks. So I fixed the machine bought new stuff did the job in a week,
And now I do about 15 jobs a year with it, I like the change from cleaning windows, and I love the before and after photos
